Direct TL1 Monitoring (DTM)

• Provides access to system-generated alarms and

performance messages for the Verizon-provided DSR

network over a TL1 (machine-to-machine communications

language protocol) connection

• Query and response capability enables two-way

communications to poll and retrieve messages

• Enables access to the customers’ DSR ring inventory

information that will assist in maintaining its own inventory

database

• Provides notification that a power failure has occurred on a

DSR network element and that the element has reverted to

battery back-up

• The customer must be able to send and receive TL1

commands

• 3, 5, and 7 yr terms available, must terminate with ring
